Red squirrel (original mixed media)

The UK is home to both grey and red squirrels, but the latter have become limited to certain regions, such as Anglesey and parts of northern England and Scotland. To prevent the extinction of red squirrels, conservation management is crucial and they must be kept separate from their grey counterparts. Time is of the essence to preserve red squirrels.

This original artwork was produced for Christmas 2023 as the red squirrel in the snow was a festive image. The summer of 2024, I actually saw one whilst on holiday in France. It is so sad how the UK has seen the demise of this beautiful little creature.
