'Lucky to be Alive' has been selected as a finalist for the world renowned wildlife art competition David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year 2024 under the category of Environmental Artivism.

It depicts the endearing face of an orangutan whilst being threatened by extinction due to the deforestation in many parts of Indonesia. The paint has been scattered and blown with strands of paint showing how we are all connected in this world. The small image at the bottom is that of a starving orangutan who often turn grey as they become thin and dehydrated.

15% of the selling price will be donated to the charity OVAID (see charities page)

Giclée prints are printed digitally at a high resolution onto archival watercolour paper using pigment based inks which increases their lightfastness.

Note: As the original image was painted on paper with Imperial measurements, there is a slight 'ghosting' on the print due to the standardised sizing. Professional cutting of a border mount can remove this.
