The Sumatran Orangutan is facing a bleak future as it sees continued deforestation of its habitat because of the West's 'need' for cheap palm oil. The way the paint has flowed across the page demonstrates the connection between these wonderful, gentle animals and their rainforest.
15% of the selling price is donated to the charity Orangutan Veterinary Aid (see details on charities page).
Giclée prints are printed digitally at a high resolution onto archival watercolour paper using pigment based inks which increases their lightfastness.
Note: As the original image was painted on paper with Imperial measurements, there is a slight 'ghosting' on the print due to the standardised sizing. Professional cutting of a border mount can remove this.
